Teresa’s practice explores landscape, memory and the body through abstract and semi-abstract figurative painting. Her work develops through layering, disruption and reworking, reflecting processes of erosion, accumulation and change.
Informed by sustained, first-hand engagement with environments including forests, upland terrain and coastal landscapes, as well as a background in mapping and spatial analysis, her paintings consider landscape as both physical structure and psychological space. These influences shape a process-led approach in which surfaces are built, disrupted and reconfigured over time.
She also works between abstraction and figuration where forms emerge through painterly process rather than being imposed. Her figures are often held within shifting, immersive fields, where distinctions between body and environment become unstable. Across this work, she explores how perception, memory and knowledge are experienced physically, and how the body remains fundamentally connected to the natural world.
